Fireworks over the Hudson River

Since 1977 Macy’s department store has sponsored an annual Fourth of July fireworks display over the New York City skyline. Each year over over 40,000 individual shlells light up the night sky over the East or Hudson Rivers.

The impressive show is one of the most well-known fireworks displays in the world and has become a staple of the Independence Day celebration for millions of Americans.

This year the Hudson River will once again host the display, with hundreds of thousands of spectators expected to line the shores of New York and New Jersey to take in the show. Millions more will be watching live as the entire display will be broadcast on NBC.

While it’s probably too late to book a flight to catch the celebration, there are plenty of other reasons to visit New York this summer. Let us help you get there with cheap flights to New York City.
