Show Your Love on a Plate!

You can call it as clichéd as giving her a bouquet of unwilted, fresh roses but a great relaxing dinner never did a Valentine’s Day evening any harm.

Picking the right restaurant and showing that you’ve done your homework can go a long way to winning brownie points with your significant other. Here are some good bets:

Casablanca Café: As the name itself implies, this is a good spot to bring your loved one for great views. The Café itself is a restored historic home, and has an ocean view, and serves American and Mediterranean specialties. Open from 11:30 a.m. till close, this restaurant features live entertainment and serves the gamut from Beef Carpaccio to Crab Cakes. Call 954 764 3500 for reservations.

Serafina Waterfront Bistro: This beautiful Italian style Trattoria is definitely styled as though it belongs in the pages of Eat, Pray, Love. It is a candlelit trattoria (another brownie point for Valentine’s Day), and features an Italian speaking staff, authentic Italian menu and an impressive wine list. For reservations call 954.463.2566.

The Capital Grille: From the rich mahogany panel to the art deco chandeliers, the Capital Grille is a good choice for the steak lover. The restaurant is also a good bet for the true wine aficionado (the wine list is over 5,000 bottles). Call (954) 446-2000 for reservations.

Casa D’Angelo: With an oak oven and specialization in Tuscan and Southern Italian dishes, this restaurant is an excellent choice for the foodie who demands choice ingredients and traditional cuisine with a twist. The menu is also seasonally inspired. Wine lovers will not be disappointed. Call 954.564.1234 for reservations.

Le Bistro Restaurant and Cooking School: This may be the best bang for your buck but the food is exquisite according to several notable reviews. Situated in Lighthouse Point, this restaurant started by Chef Andy Trousdale serves only the finest ingredients and is set in a strip mall. Don’t let looks fool you: this French cuisine restaurant gives you four courses for $35 (Valentine’s Day menu pricing may differ: call 954-946-9240 for reservations). Who said fine dining had to come with a hefty price tag?

Indulge in a romantic getaway today!
