The Federal Aviation Administration is concerned with the rise of incidents involving lasers aimed at airline cockpits. This brazen act could jeopardized air travel safety according to the FAA.
About 12 pilots have come forward complaining of a green laser light being pointed at their cockpits when they attempt to land at New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport.
A few of the pilots have said the lasers cause impaired vision and it could damage their retina. The lasers are powerful enough to burn through plastic and can hit a target miles away.
