New York is considering an amendment to expand gaming

Could your next trip to New York include a stop at the craps table? It may not be a bad wager, according to several reports Wednesday.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has said the state is taking a hard look at current gaming laws and considering a constitutional amendment that would legalize gambling statewide.

There are already a few Indian-operated casinos in New York and video operated gaming facilities are up and running at eight racetracks throughout the state.

However, a constitutional amendment would open the door for more traditional New York casinos like those found in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Similar gaming legislation died in the Empire State back in 1997, but if Governor Cuomo gets on board with the latest push, New York could soon be all in.
