Photgrapher Danny Goldfield Arranges Photo Exhibit
Wednesday night marked the official opening of the Islamic cultural center in New York, located at 51 Park Place, just two blocks from the World Trade Center site.
Though the center came under fire when it’s initial plans were released, its opening was met with enthusiasm according to the USA Today report.
If you were affected by the events of 9/11 and have flights to New York on the way, you might want to consider seeing what the center has to offer.
Sharif El-Gamal, the center’s developer, was quoted in the USA Today report, saying its “modeled after the Jewish Community Center on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, where he lives.”
The space is open to all faiths and will also include memorial dedicated to 9/11.
