This past weekend the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental took to the sky on its first-ever test flight. The airplane maker is touting the 747-8 as the world’s fastest and most fuel-efficient passenger aircraft in the history of Boeing. The first delivery of the new plane is expected sometime later this year.

The nearly five hour test drive departed from Everett, Washington’s Paine Field and landed at Boeing Field. A series of test were performed during the flight, which saw the 747-8 reach altitudes of as much as 20,000 feet. Check out the video below of the take off over the weekend.
