British Airways launches transatlantic alliance

On Wednesday British Airways launched its transatlantic alliance with Spanish carrier, Iberia and American Airlines, promising cheaper fares and more travel choices as part of the cost-cutting proposal.

The leaders of all three groups came together in London for the official launch of their ‘oneworld’ agreement for greater coordination over routes.

With the new alliance, customers will be able to travel with more ease on the airlines’ combined route network which will serve more than 400 destinations in 105 countries with about 5,200 daily departures.

The alliance will allow for commercial cooperation on flights between the European Union, Switzerland and Norway and the United States, Mexico and Canada.
