In the wake of a historic snowstorm that struck New York City last weekend, The Daily Beast has compiled a list of the 20 Snowiest Cities in the United States.
While putting the list together, the site looked at snowfall data over the past 30 years for cities with a population greater than 50,000 people.
While the recent blizzard in New York City was impressive, it pales in comparison to what upstate New Yorkers deal with each and every winter. The top three spots on the list belong to Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo, New York respectively.
While there were some surprises on the list (Flagstaff, Arizona coming in at number five), the rest of the top 10 probable won’t shock you. Contenders include Anchorage, Alaska; Duluth, Minnesota; and Eerie, Pennsylvania.
