American to Introduce New High-End Services
American Airlines is implementing a "turndown service" and other benefits for select first class flights.
The amenities consist of quilted bed toppers, slippers and pajamas and designer toiletries.
"American's new suite of premium-class amenities is another example of how we are working to differentiate the experience for our premium customers and deliver what they value most as they travel our global network," says Rob Friedman, American's vice president of marketing.
American is counting on their premium cabin services and amenities to set them apart from the fierce industry competition. Airlines believe that high-end customers are vital to an industry that's still trying to recover from a tough economic climate.
Starting Thursday, first and business class passengers flying between the U.S. and Heathrow Airport will receive some high-end products including duvets and pillows.
Then, in October, the ‘turndown’ service will be extended to all U.S. and all international destinations.
