Alaska Airlines was named the most on-time airline by FlightStats in a press release Monday. Flightstats ranked 15 carriers that offered the highest percentage of flights arriving within 15 minutes of their scheduled time. Alaska saw more than 87 percent of their flights arrive on-time, higher than any other major North American airline.
Commenting on the honorably mention, Alaska Airlines' chief operating officer Ben Minicucci said in a press release, "We're honored to be recognized as the best on-time major airline in
North America." Minicucci added, "Our on-time performance during the past 13
months represents the best record in our company's 78-year history. This
award pays tribute to our dedicated employees and their unwavering
focus on safety and customer service."
Other "on-time" winners this year include:
- Regional North American Airline: Hawaiian Airlines (92 percent)
- Major European Airline: Scandinavian Airlines (86.5 percent)
- Major International Airline: Japan Airlines (90 percent)
