Nunu’s Tavern

This Hillcrest favorite has been around for over 50 years and does not appear to have changed much since the 70s. Nunu’s is a bar straight out of the 70s as well. At this retro hangout, you can expect authentic American bar bites and cheap drinks. Aero Club Bar

Address: 3365 India St, San Diego

One of San Diego’s oldest and best-known dives. A favorite for whiskey lovers. Opened in 1947 by a female pilot who incorporated her occupation into its design, creating a funky aviation-themed décor, as its name implies. It is a local black hole that draws a crowd with pinball, a pool table with an extensive whiskey selection. One of the most absurdly well-stocked whiskey bars in America.

Waterfront Bar


Address: 2044 Kettner Blvd, San Diego

Located on Kettner Blvd in Little Italy, it is proudly known as San Diego’s oldest tavern, Waterfront. Doors open at 6:00 am and there is a menu for that late night or early morning hunger pangs with solid food. The Waterfront boasts outdoor seating – do arrive early as it gets crowded on weekends and at weeknights.
