King Salmon

Located along the bank of Naknek River, approximately 284 miles southwest of Anchorage on the Alaska Peninsula, King Salmon serves as the gateway to the Katmai National Park and Preserve. The Katmai National Park is a 4.2-million-acre park known for the moon-like landscape of the Valley of 10,000 Smokes, a post-volcanic landscape, and giant grizzles. While here, visitors can indulge in bear viewing which takes place near Brooks Camp along the Brooks River Falls and Brooks River.
