While taking a stroll on any afternoon, one may encounter fishermen and can get a chance to see them repairing their nets or unload their catch. Kodiak is well known for its Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge covers nearly two-third part of the Kodiak Island. Kodiak is popular as a fishing destination. All five species of salmon along with rockfish, halibut, trout, and cod are found here.
