period fire engines and equipment. Apart from this, displayed within are
collections of historical uniforms dating back to 1920s. Also, there is a
special children's area allowing young visitors to indulge in hands-on
experience with some of the fire safety equipment.
Hugh Taylor Birch State Park
The Hugh Taylor Birch State Park lies next to the Atlantic Ocean. It should
be in the list of anyone who loves to see wildlife. The park is home to
number of local species such as the gopher tortoise, turtles, and marsh
rabbits. Apart from this, there are over 200 kinds of birds. Within the
park are hiking trails which are perfect for walking and cycling.
NSU Art Museum
The NSU Art Museum was built in 1986 and aims at showcasing the best 20th century art from the region. Designed by Edward Barnes, a
local artist, the museum's building is a work of art. Exhibited within are
over 6,000 items telling the story of the art scene in South Florida. Also
housed here are art pieces by legends such as Pablo Picasso and various
artists from Cuba.
