Hyderabad is the capital of the southern Indian state of Telangana and de jure capital of Andhra Pradesh. Golkonda is a citadel and fort situated 6.8 miles away from Hyderabad. Implying the ‘round hill’ in Telugu language, this fort is located in the region famous for mines that have produced some of the world's best known gems like the Koh-i-Noor and the Hope Diamond.


Built in late 16th century, the Charminar (or ‘four minarets’) is the one of the most prominent architectural marvels of Southern India. It is nicknamed the Arc de Triomphe of the East for its splendid architecture. It has a mosque on its top and is flanked by a 400-year-old bangles market called Laad Bazaar.

Chowmahalla Palace

Chowmahalla Palace is a palace, and was the official residence and seat of power of the Nizams of the former Hyderabad state. It is built using many different Indian and European architectural styles. You should be amazed with its Khilwat Mubarak, a grand hall where the royal throne was kept.
