Devon House Heritage Site
The Devon House Heritage Site used to be the home of George Stiebel, first
black millionaire of Jamaica. Constructed in the year 1881, it is one of
the prominent landmarks and historic heritage sites in the city. Built in
the Georgian Jamaican architecture, the Devon House represents the rich
cultural diversity of Jamaica. It is one of the typical plantation homes
set up by British colonists. Displayed within the house are furniture from
the 19th century. Visitors can opt for tours, available for the house and
the property.
National Gallery of Jamaica
The National Gallery of Jamaica is situated in the city of Kingston. It is
the oldest & largest public art gallery in the English-speaking
Caribbean countries. Set up in the year 1974, the gallery showcases early,
contemporary, and modern art from the country, Caribbean, and other
countries from the nearby regions. The National Gallery houses 5 permanent
galleries where one can see everything starting from the Pre-Colombian art.
These arts have been created by the artists from the indigenous communities
