Jorasanko Thakurbari, also named as the House of Thakurs, is the ancestral residence of the family of Rabindranath Tagore. This imposing mansion was built in the 18th century by Prince Dwarkanath Tagore, who was the grandfather of Rabindranath. Jorasanko Thakurbari now features the Rabindra Bharathi University and a museum featuring the assorted articles depicting and describing the life of the Tagores.
