Cancun is a scenic bracket of a 21 kilometer long white sandy beach alongside Caribbean Sea. It is tourist magnet for its coral banks, scuba diving and delightful weather conditions. Things to do in Cancun

El Rey Maya Ruins

Dating back to the first millennium, the El Rey Maya Ruins is a cluster of nearly 50 Mayan Civilization’s structural remains and tombs in Cancun. It derives its name from an ancient mask that dedicated to the Sun god. The ruins are basically modeled in to two parts that comprise elevated platforms with temples and pavilions for ceremonies. The place fills a visor with both an appreciation for the superb architectural genius and is neatly complemented by a distinctly eerie charm related to the mystery of the disappearance of the civilization.

Museo Maya de Cancun (the Maya Museum)

The Maya Museum (Museo Maya de Cancun) is an honest reflection of the profound regional history. It ranks as one of the biggest state-owned museums and it checks all boxes related to the famous culture and includes about 350 priceless artifacts segregated across many different categories. Some of the highlights here include 10000-year old remains of the ‘Woman of the Palms’ and some stellar examples of Mayan architecture and art.

Torre Escenica (Scenic Tower)

Torre Escenica doubles up as the city’s irresistible highlight and a classic example of artisanship. Visitors are more than just wowed with the stellar combination of Mayan Civilization’s cultural icons and the neatness with which they were converted into an architectural highlight. This 110-meter tall superstructure is built on a thin base and offers a birds-eye view of the city up to the beaches and beyond. It is best to visit here after sunset when it is beautifully lit up as a flower.

Best Time to fly to Cancun

The best time to fly to Cancun is from December to March. The temperature hovers around 80 deg F and attracts large crowds during the spring break. Those wishing to save some money can visit the city during the fall season from September to November. This time of the year is fraught with the danger of hurricanes but if you can brave that, you can get to enjoy the Cancun Jazz Festival during the Labor Day Weekend in late August.
