The former is provides winter access to a nearby wilderness zone while the latter is a classical masterpiece of Scandinavian architecture.

Vikingsholm

Vikingsholm is an extremely rare combination of American Craftsman and late 19th century Scandinavian Revival architectural styles in the US. Built in 1929, this grand mansion was built as a summer home for Mrs. Lora Josephine Knight who had traveled extensively to Scandinavia to learn more about this architectural style. The Vikingsholm includes another attraction called 'Tea House' on the nearby Fannette Island.
