Places of Interest in Taos
Taos is a town located in the north central region of the of the US state of New Mexico. The town is surrounded by the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and is in proximity to Taos Pueblo, which is a Native American village. El Rio Grande del Norte National Monument
Located north from Taos all the way to the Colorado border, El Rio Grande del Norte National Monument encompassing around 25, acres of public land. The monument covers an immense range of ecosystems from sage-dominated range and wide-open grasslands to the alpine slopes of Ute Mountain and depths of the Rio Grande Gorge. El Rio Grande del Norte National Monument offers an assortment of outdoor recreational activities including hiking, rafting, hunting, camping, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, and wildlife viewing.
Harwood Museum of Art
An excellent place to visit for art lovers, Harwood Museum of Art is located on historic Ledoux Street and boasts a wide-ranging and impressive assortment of art from southern Colorado and northern New Mexico including works from Hispanic, Native American, and Anglo-American settlers and artists. The major highlights at the museum are the nearly 2, photographic images dating to the 19th century and the assortment of sacred carved figures known as "Santos."
