Situated a couple of hours away from the national capital Manila and less than hours drive from Clark International Airport, Subic Bay is a bay on the western coast of Luzon Island in the Philippines. This nearly 5-year old bay was a prominent US Naval base from 1899 to 1991 and is now a premier water sport destination that includes the Philippine cities of Olongapo and Barrio Baretto, the Municipality of Subic, a shipyard and old housing areas up to Morong in Bataan Province. While it is dotted with beaches, seaside resorts, safari parks, scuba diving hotspots, amusement parks, wildlife sanctuary and even an Indiana Jones type of jungle adventure over a shaky bridge (at the Forbidden Cave), its top draw consist of its superb diving, snorkeling, parasailing, wreck diving and jet skiing sites.

Places of Interest in Subic Bay
You dont always have to be Bear Grylls to survive in seemingly hostile conditions, not at least if you're pursuing a jungle survival program at Jungle Environmental Survival Training camp. This certified crash course is designed to develop survival skills and is modeled around the same set of principles that were implemented by US Army in the Vietnam War. You would gain a firsthand experience in identifying dangerous and edible plants for food besides in some allied activities like making utensils out of bamboo, starting a fire without a match and using plants for medicinal purposes. You would also be awarded a certificate post a successful completion of your training and adventure trip.
Scuba diving
Subic Bay is a picture-perfect assembly of coral reefs and some of the world's best preserved shipwrecks that lie dotted with marine life amidst sheltered sea waters at a 15 minutes boat trip from the shoreline. It is home to nearly 25 to 35 ships that kissed the seabed owing to some famous wars (like American-Spanish War of 1898 and the Second World War in 1944) and natural forces. Some highlights here include the Spanish ship San Quentin and two Japanese ships called Hell Ship Oryoku Maru and Seian Maru that sank in 1944.
Zoobic Safari
Subic Bays Zoobic Safari in Forest Adventure Park features a wide range of wildlife in its respective habitats- be it forest, terrain, aquatic, marine or grasslands. You would find an extensive list of native and exotic animals like deer, ostrich, albino caribou, bear, monkey, eagle, miniature horse, ducks plus ostriches, potbellies, wild boars, snakes, lizards, iguanas and turtles. You should not miss out on two attractions- the Tiger Safari (that comprises of a ride through a forest in a safari jeep and to see tigers roaming around you) and a visit to the Croco Loco section for a guided tour to see how an average day goes about in a nomadic Filipino tribe.
