Blue Penny Museum
Located in the famous mall of Port Louis, Le Caudan Waterfront, the Blue Penny Museum plays a significant role in the culture of Mauritius. The museum received its name from extremely rare 2 pence Blue Stamp. On one of these two "Post Office" was engraved by Joseph Osmond Barnard in the year 1847 for the Mauritian Posts. At the museum, visitors can learn about French, Dutch, and British colonial eras. The expansive collection here reveals about the history and heritage of the entire island and comprise of ancient marine maps, sculptures, old stamps, paintings, engravings, and more.
