Because only half of the group need to travel differently, it took several calls to Iberia Airlines directly and because of the time difference, Nicko coordinated and helped me over a couple of days. Throughout the experience, he explained what he was doing and why he needs to put me on hold and why he needs to call me back the following day, He was very knowledgeable, professional and empathetic to my predicament. Aptly nicknamed the Park City for its elaborate public park system, Bridgeport is a city in the US State of Connecticut. It is home to some of the most notable firsts in the American history and they all qualify as some superb tourist hotspots. The city is the birthplace of Frisbee and the first Subway restaurant, just as it hosts to the states largest zoo and one of the countrys first waterfront parks (the Seaside Park). It has been involved in some key events like the WWE RAW, WWE Smackdown, Kitchen Nightmares and the filming of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull besides hosting some notable speeches by Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King and Barack Obama from 186 to 21. The city is bubbling with several science-oriented, fine arts and historical museums, historic districts, scenic drives and live music venues- and tho the heart of all glory here is the famous weekend long festival celebrating arts and music called Gathering of the Vibes.
The Barnum Museum has an extensive collection related to the highlights of the eminent 19th century showman PT Barnums professional career and how the city has unfolded ever since its inception in 1821. It is housed in a three-story building pertaining to Byzantine to Romanesque architectural styles. Its walls are engraved with some of the salient events related to American history like Native American cultures, Christopher Columbus, George Washington and Civil War. Some other attractions here are a 1-square foot miniature handmade replica of a circus using 3 miniature figures and a 25-year old Egyptian mummy.
Seaside Park Bridgeports Seaside Park is a 2.5 mile long crescent-shaped park touching Bridgeport Harbor, Long Island Sound and Black Rock Harbor that delights visitors by its sunny beaches and icy blue waters along three miles of coastline and some timeless 19th century landscapes. You can enjoy picnic areas, hiking trails and a wildlife preserve here. The park also organizes the Gathering of the Vibes, an annual four-day music, camping and arts festival for a superb range of musical performances.
Historic Districts Being a 2-year old city and a former industrial and financial axis of the Connecticut state, Bridgeport has been a part of some momentous historical events of American history. A tangible turnkey of the same can be found in the citys five historic districts, out of which Pembroke City Historic District assumes pole position for its 266 mid-19th century grand Victorian mansions. The next attraction, Marina Park Historic District consists of 14 late-19th century mansions built in late-Victorian or Edwardian styles overlooking Seaside Park.
