For active-duty military traveling Spirit Airlines provides two free checked bags and a free carry-on, in addition to the already free personal item. However, airlines state that the U.S. Military member should arrive early enough to have their bags checked at the counter, and present their U.S. Military ID. Frontier provides one free personal item, one free carry-on bag, and two free checked bags waivers but only after you present a Common Access Card with a uniformed services affiliation at check-in.
Please note that at Frontier Airlines baggage waivers apply to the individual with an active duty status and does not extend to family members or traveling companions. Though JetBlue offers a 5 % discount to military travelers. However, active-duty military personnel, retired military, veterans, national guard and reserve, and their families must be enrolled in Veterans Advantage to avail the said discount.
Once enrolled and verified military travelers can travel with JetBlue to its 85+ destinations across the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America. Hawaiian Airlines :
Active duty US military passengers and military personnel who are retired or retiring with proof of official government travel orders and their qualified dependents are allowed four checked complimentary bags per person for coach, first, business classes of service when traveling on orders on Hawaiian Airlines system-wide travel. Each bag is limited to a maximum of 70 lbs. and 80 linear inches. The Airlines also offer 5 % off on its airfares to veterans who are enrolled in its Veterans Advantage Program in some markets. To the United States Marine Corps, Army, Air Force, Navy or Coast Guard, Delta offers baggage fee exceptions whenever they travel, whether it’s on military orders or personal. But again, on military orders, your bags can be up to 80 linear inches (length + width + height) or 203 cm. For personal or leisure travel as an active military member, your bag can be up to 62 linear inches or 157 cm. Besides that, Delta also offers savings exclusively to U.S. service members.
