The Big Golden Guitar, the centerpiece of Tamworth Country Music Festival, is a 40-feet high wooden guitar that stands in Tamworth. It was unveiled by Australia's most popular country music artist, Slim Dusty in 1988 to signify the city’s immense contribution to Australian country music. Its miniature-sized replicas are given to leading singers and musicians in the Tamworth Country Music Festival every year.

Tamworth Power Station Museum

Tamworth was the illuminated Australian city to be lit up by municipally generated electricity in 1888. Subsequently a power station was installed in the city in 1923 to counter the high demand for electricity then. The Tamworth Power Station Museum has one of Australia's largest collections of early 20th century electrical appliances that proudly elucidate the stellar rise of this city from its founding days and the days of oil lamps in 1876 and gas lamps in 1882 until the introduction of electricity in 1888 and till date.

Tamworth Marsupial Park
