The largest island of the Northern Mariana Islands, Saipan is considered as one of the most naturally beautiful places in the United States. Northern Mariana Islands is a commonwealth of the United States in the western Pacific Ocean. Located on the northern tip of the island, Suicide Cliff is the site where scores of Japanese civilians jumped to their deaths in 1944 during the Battle of Saipan. These civilians were trying to escape the fighting and were convinced by the Japanese Army that that they would be killed by the Americans. Suicide Cliff is located on the rock outcropping and overlooking the sea. There are lots of Japanese memorials found here at the site.

One of the most beautiful spots in Saipan, Bird Island is home to thousands of birds. Visitors can still find holes in the soft cliffs of the island from the mortar shells of the Second World War. One can also witness sea turtles in the waters of Bird Island. Through walking around the island, visitors can view deep pools in the rocks. These pools are home to a plethora of large colorful ocean fishes.
