The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is the main mosque in Muscat. It is made using 300000 tons of Indian sandstone and is hallmarked by its 90 meter high main minarets and four 45.5 meter high flanking minarets. Its floor is covered from the world’s second largest single piece carpet that was painted and woven using traditional methods. It weighs 21 tons and had taken four years to produce.

The National Museum

The National Museum is the Sultanate's flagship cultural institution and it offers a profound insight into last two million years as they have happened in Oman Peninsula. You should visit it for its array of 5466 objects and 43 digital immersive experiences across 14 permanent galleries as a subset of the country’s religious, geographic, maritime, monetary and historical heritage. This museum is also the first museum in the Middle East to adopt Arabic Braille script for the visually impaired.
