Longreach Outback Drover’s Reunion

Celebrated in late April and/or early May in the town of Longreach, the Longreach Outback Drover’s Reunion is celebrated to honor former experienced horse-mounted stockman called drover (who moves livestock over long distances). The event starts with a campfire and people sitting around it is telling their personal accounts while having dinner. Other highlights at Longreach Outback Drover’s Reunion revolve around events like Billy Tea and Damper, camp oven meals and playing Outback Games like Whip Cracking, Driving the Nail and Boot Throwing.
