Grafton Regional Art Gallery

The Grafton Regional Art Gallery is home to one of the largest collection of artworks in New South Wales. It is installed in a late 19th century residence of a surgeon and features over 40 exhibitions and 70 programs and events each year. Its collections are a direct derivate of the Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award, central to which is the historical O'Grady watercolor collection of Australian flora and fauna.

Glenreagh Memorial Museum

Glenreagh is a small town located less than 30 miles away from Grafton. It is best known for its Glenreagh Memorial Museum that comprises several historical artifacts related to Australia’s Gold Rush era and subsequent rapid colonization. Some star attractions here include an assorted display of relics of early timber industry, old crockery, a hundred-year-old radio sets and an early film projector.

Chaelundi National Park

The Chaelundi National Park comprises the largest forest of old trees in northern New South Wales. It is located at a couple of hours ride away from Grafton and features several zones for biking, swimming, picnicking and camping. Jacaranda Festival

Grafton’s focal feature, the Jacaranda Festival, is celebrated during the last weekend in October and the first weekend in November every year. The festival celebrates the picture-perfect sight of several flower-laden Jacaranda trees that the city is dotted with. It was inaugurated in 1935 and was then the first Australian folk festival.

Jacaranda Dragon Boat Races

The Jacaranda Dragon Boat Races is the largest regional dragon boat event in New South Wales. This famous free, annual event is celebrated in October on the Clarence River. This event precedes the Jacaranda Festival and comprises more than 30 teams vying for the top prize in several categories.
