HMAS Sydney Memorial
The HMAS Sydney Memorial stands as a proud reminder of 645 Australian
sailors who went down with their battleship HMAS Sydney while fighting a
mutually destructive battle with its German counterpart HSK Kormoran in
November 1941 during the Second World War. This memorial is made in the
form of a large boulder, a flagpole and a bronze plaque, and was dedicated
to the nation a day before the 60th anniversary of the battle. It dome is
made of 645 stainless steel seagulls that represent the liberated souls of
the sunk sailors.
Point Moore Lighthouse
Point Moore Lighthouse was the first all-steel tower built on the mainland
of Australia, back in 1878. It stands as a 34-meter-tall, structure with
red and white candy stripes lording over the Geraldton cityscape. Though
the lighthouse is not open to the public, but visitors can always visit its
base to know more about its history and a new interpretive plaque installed
there.
Museum of Geraldton
The Museum of Geraldton is home to a stunning display of the history and
culture of Mid-West region. This museum is situated overlooking the Indian
Ocean and is home to several artifacts like old medical instruments,
artifacts related to Aboriginal history and culture, a shipwreck gallery
(of Australian, German and Dutch ships), old medical instruments and some

Mullewa Wildflower Show
Outback Bloom is a famous wildflower festival celebrated in the town of
