Emerald Botanic Gardens

The Emerald Botanic Gardens is located on the banks of the Nogoa River. It was set up was the Emerald Shire Council and local residents Lawrie and Myra Stanton in the year 1987. Spread over an area of nearly 42 hectares, the garden serves as a habitat for 12 different themed plant communities, most of which are native to the region. It is the only Botanic Gardens within Central Western District of Queensland. It is a perfect place to relax & unwind from the hustle-bustle of the city and to explore the natural environment of the region.

Lake Maraboon

For those who love fishing, Lake Maraboon should be included in their must-see attractions. It is a famous spot for anglers, as available here are around 8 different varieties of fish including barramundi. Red claw crayfish too can be found here in a healthy population. Carnarvon National Park

The Big Bend camping area remains open throughout the year and can be reached after covering nearly 9.7 kilometers via walking.
