Northern Territory’s oldest surviving outpost station, the Borroloola Police Station Museum is home to a remarkable display of Aboriginal heritage and mining history in the region. Borroloola was a major river port and this police station was constructed in 1886 but was made into a patrol officer’s residence 50 years later. This museum also has dedicated displays related to early regional settlements, occupation, administration and mining.

Lorella Springs Wilderness Park

The Lorella Springs Wilderness Park is a million acres of unspoilt area located 102 miles away from Borroloola. It comprises 15 miles of coastline and waterways, wetlands, swamps, rock formations, mountain ranges, chasms and gorges and a natural hot water springs and an extensive range of native wildlife. Visitors can enjoy swimming, bird watching, bush walking and fishing here or they can simply take out some time to relax by the hot springs. Malandari Festival (22 September to 21 October)

Formerly known as DanceSite, the Malandari Festival in Borroloola celebrates the significance and diversity of local community and culture. This festival will also showcase two nights of traditional dance event focused on local history, cultures and stories. Visitors can also attend various workshops and food markets here while young children can enjoy activities for them.

King Ash Bay Fishing Easter Fishing Classic

The King Ash Bay Fishing Classic is usually celebrated over the Easter weekend every year at King Ash Bay to mark the end of rainy season in Borroloola. This festival is a crowd-magnet because it is attended by professional and casual fishing enthusiasts who run for various prizes across several categories. One of the key prizes in this competition is awarded to catch the heaviest fish in each of the 15 fish species found in the bay.

Boonu Boonu Festival

Boonu Boonu Festival is annually celebrated in the first weekend of July in Borroloola. It celebrates indigenous culture through including traditional dances, musical performances and arts and crafts.
