Catedral de San Pedro y San Pablo de Maracaibo (or St. Peter and St.
Paul Cathedral)
The St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral (also known as the Maracaibo
Cathedral) is the main church of Maracaibo. Housed in a 17th
century building, it was elevated to the status of a cathedral by Pope Leo
XIII in July 1897. It co-hosts the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese
of Maracaibo with the Archbishop's Palace.

Cristo Negro or Black Christ. It was also called Cristo de Gibraltar for a
small nearby town that was later destroyed by indigenous groups in 1600 AD.
