Did Your City Get Its Shot?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Theater fans, music lovers, history buffs and rappers, unite! <em>Hamilton<\/em> the musical is finally hitting the road. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The hip-hop musical about the life and infamous death of Alexander Hamilton has blown up in New York City, but its expensive tickets and limited availability have only piqued the public\u2019s interest, since demand is so high. Featuring music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the musical swept the Tony\u2019s with a record breaking <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">16 nominations!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And finally, the show is coming to a city near you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Chicago<\/strong> is the first lucky city to host\u00a0the show, starting September 27, 2016 at the <a href=\"http:\/\/broadwayinchicago.com\/theatre\/the-privatebank-theatre\/\" target=\"_blank\">PrivateBank Theater<\/a>. The tickets went on sale last week and quickly sold out &#8211; a scene reminiscent of the Broadway darling&#8217;s story last year when tickets\u00a0for the New York shows sold out immediately, with tickets being bought nearly a year in advance. The lucky few camped out in Chicago to wait for their chance to see the breakthrough musical.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The West Coast will also get their shot at seeing the musical, with showings in <strong>San Francisco<\/strong> and <strong>Los Angeles<\/strong> at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shnsf.com\/online\/article\/orpheumtheatre\" target=\"_blank\">SHN Orpheum Theater <\/a>and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/hollywoodpantages.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hollywood Pantages Theater<\/a>, respectively. The show in San Francisco will open in March 2017 and run for 21 weeks while the Los Angeles showing will run from August 11, 2017 through to December 20, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The lead producer of <em>Hamilton<\/em>, Jeffrey Seller, said he chose San Francisco and Los Angeles because they are in large metro areas where other popular musicals have succeeded &#8211;\u00a0<em>Wicked<\/em> in particular.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe make these decisions based on the size of the market and the power of the market to sell tickets for long periods of time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The New York show will continue to run indefinitely and there is also a possibility it will be crossing the seas to London.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t see your city on the tour schedule?\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Well, there\u2019s never been a better time to book a trip.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Are you a\u00a0<\/em>Hamilton<em> junkie?
