Now that one mountain is open for business, we figured it high time to investigate the other towns worth visiting to get slicing early.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Check out these five ski locales\u00a0where you can live the life of &#8220;slope luxury&#8221; at\u00a0a bigger bargain.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Mammoth Lakes, CA<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Okay, so you might not want to splurge for the awesome helicopter tour you can take over Mammoth Mountain, but this cozy ski town offers a lot more than dollar-demanding adventure. Renowned Yosemite National Park is located just 45 minutes north, where you can get your free fill of the outdoors after hitting the slopes. Barring a big snowfall, explore all of the nature Laurance Rockefeller Preserve has to offer\u2014without even getting out of your car. Or for a leisurely stroll, walk around the quaint Town Square, where you&#8217;ll be sure to see your fair share of horse-drawn carriages.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to ski resorts, Jackson Hole is a skiier&#8217;s paradise. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheapoair.com\/FPNextHotel\/Hotels\/HotelDetail\/s\/4?FPWEBCA196&amp;EID=45_30&amp;FPID=42550&amp;HID=122740_000194;HUJACRP&amp;T=Hotel%20Name&amp;t=h#15552061317620945010\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rusty Parrot Lodge and Spa<\/a>\u00a0is a local\u00a0staple known for its understated luxury and charming comfort. The rooms\u2014which start at\u00a0$264\/night\u2014were designed with tired bodies in mind: lots of attention is paid to the bedding (think: down everything), perfect for sinking into after an exhausting day on the slopes. Room upgrades include private whirlpools and fireplaces.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re looking for something even more affordable, not to fear. We\u2019ll admit, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheapoair.com\/FPNextHotel\/Hotels\/HotelDetail\/s\/4?FPWEBCA196&amp;EID=34_30&amp;FPID=64717&amp;HID=91_WV;77243&amp;T=Hotel%20Name&amp;t=h#00019156702S64250854991891530\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Rustic Inn<\/a> originally made the list mostly because of its\u00a0free buffet breakfast (nothing starts a day on the slopes out right like bacon and homemade granola). But,\u00a0the price tag is also pretty phenomenal at just $149\/night. When you&#8217;re not showcasing your skills at Squaw Valley or a surrounding slope, you might want to check out Vikingsholm\u2014a &#8220;castle&#8221; dating back to 1929 that is touted as\u00a0a &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vikingsholm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blend of Nature&#8217;s spectacular beauty and man&#8217;s architectural ingenuity<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The fun doesn&#8217;t have to stop when you put those skis away, either. Choosing what to do everyday at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheapoair.com\/FPNextHotel\/Hotels\/HotelDetail\/s\/7?FPWEBCA196&amp;EID=38_30&amp;FPID=136688&amp;HID=191859_HR;HETHLK&amp;T=Hotel%20Name&amp;rt=&amp;t=h#3SIMPLEDBL-U10KG-PWRO-U10200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Harvey&#8217;s Lake Tahoe<\/a> might be tough at this scenic ski resort. Not only is it home to ski spots like Snowmass and Buttermilk, but it&#8217;s also home to the John Denver Sanctuary, its namesake of course being\u00a0the folk musician who spent much of his time in Aspen. The grounds are free to enter and beautiful to explore. If you&#8217;ve got a car, it&#8217;s also worth taking the 20-mile drive through Independence Pass\u2014you&#8217;ll climb up to over 12,000 feet above sea level as you navigate along the Continental Divide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>One of our favorite Aspen hotels is also the the most expensive on our list. But, with ski-in ski-out access to Snowmass and easy access to three other area mountains, we couldn\u2019t pass up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheapoair.com\/FPNextHotel\/Hotels\/HotelDetail\/s\/1?FPWEBCA196&amp;EID=38_30&amp;FPID=81648&amp;HID=151775_YX;24803&amp;T=&amp;t=h&amp;rc=SIMPLE~STU-U10~KG~RO-U10~20~\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Viceroy Snowmass<\/a>. (Plus, it was ranked #4 among luxury hotels in Aspen by U.S. News &amp; World Report.) Rooms will cost you about $468\/night, and they all feature sleek, modern furniture, free wifi, luxury linens, and gas fireplaces.
