While you\u2019re there, you\u2019ll get to see the ongoing restoration of the Santa Fe 2926. With the help of volunteers and private donors, this 1944 locomotive is on par to run again after extensive restorations. It once ran between Kansas City and San Diego with a stop in Albuquerque, and the grand idea is to completely restore it and use it for rides. Talk about a fun, historical experience, am I right? Check out this open house, and you\u2019ll get to see this massive, nearly finished train first hand.<\/p>\n
