Much to the chagrin of international travelers everywhere, there’s a new World’s Busiest Airport. And surprisingly, it’s not in London or New York.<\/p>\n

Nope – the new sheriff in town is Dubai International Airport<\/a>, which\u00a0leapfrogged London-Heathrow. Last year, Dubai International was the destination for\u00a070.5 million<\/em>\u00a0travelers.\u00a0<\/em>Even crazier, they expect to top their numbers again, with a projected 79 million travelers headed to Dubai in 2015. As if having the world’s tallest building wasn’t enough, now Dubai wants the world’s busiest airport (although I’m still convinced it’s LaGuardia until I witness it in person.)<\/p>\n

Why has Dubai exploded in popularity recently? One can only guess. But we suspect it may have to do with all those pet cheetahs and Lamborghinis<\/a>.<\/p>\n
