\nthat millions of friends, family, and countrymen were reunited and the
\nidea of a West and East Germany crumbled like the giant obstruction
\nthat once stood firmly in the center of Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz.<\/p>\n
\nhundreds of thousands people pulling apart the 100 mile long wall,
\nonce divided family members embracing, and bars staying open extra late to
\naccommodate locals and visitors alike who were in the mood to celebrate.<\/p>\n
\neventual implosion of the Soviet empire. The Berlin Wall is long gone and just a few pieces of it remain in an outdoor art gallery and as
\npart of an open-air museum nearby. The rest of the concrete fragments have been scattered
\nthroughout the world and placed in various memorials, while others remain in the possesion of the many that assisted in toppling over the Cold War built barricade.<\/p>\n
\namazing restaurants, and a great nightlife. The wall has been replaced
\nwith pricey apartments, a packed shopping center, and the European
\nheadquarters of such technology heavyweights as Sony.<\/p>\n
\nconcerts from the likes of Bon Jovi, a vigil for the 136 people killed
\ntrying to cross over during the 28 years it stood, and 1,000 foam
\ndominoes will be tipped over along the wall\u2018s former pathway.<\/p>\n
\njust 20 years. The collapse of the Berlin Wall should give hope to many that change is truly possible.<\/p>\n
