Snow is expected to blanket much of the East this weekend and many carriers are helping passengers that are looking to opt out of weekend air plans.<\/p>\n

So called “weather waivers” were given out to travelers Thursday by some airlines, with rules such as you must reschedule your flight within the next few days.<\/p>\n

Here are the airlines participating and what they will be offering consumers:<\/p>\n

\nSaturday to or from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland,
\nVirginia and West Virginia can rebook without penalty if they travel by
\nMonday. Delta has announced it will be canceling some flights in response to the storm and possible delays. The airline said customers on canceled flight can request full refunds.<\/p>\n
\nWashington, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York,
\nPennsylvania and Virginia. That includes not only United flights, but United Express and United
\ncode-share flights as well. You must keep the same origin and destination when changing tickets and rescheduled flights must take place within seven days of the original travel date. Canceled flights might occur according to United and those customers are entitled to a full refund.<\/p>\n
\nSunday to or from certain airports could change plans without penalty. Continental’s website identified those “certain airports” as Newark Liberty International, Baltimore-Washington in Maryland;
\nReagan National and Dulles in Virginia; Charlotte, Greensboro and
\nRaleigh-Durham, N.C.; Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
\nWashington, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina,
\nPennsylvania and Virginia. Travelers looking to reschedule have until up to seven days before or after their original planned departure date.<\/p>\n
\ncan move their reservations without suffering any penalty as long as they complete their
\nrescheduled travel within five days of their original itinerary.<\/p>\n
