\n \n \n<\/p>\n \nAccording to a report released Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Transportation, United Airlines had the best on-time performance for the first quarter of 2010 among the larger U.S. carriers.\n<\/p>\n \n \n<\/p>\n \nWith an impressive 82.5 percent on-time performance, United bested American, Continental, Delta and US Airways. An airline is considered "on-time" when they land at their final destination within 14 minutes of the scheduled arrival time.\n<\/p>\n \n \n<\/p>\n \nUnited was of course glowing over the news with the president of the company saying, "These results, coming after our strong performance in 2009, demonstrate \n \n<\/p>\n \nUnited Airlines recently came to a merger agreement with Continental Airlines, which is expected to go into effect by the end of the calendar year.\n<\/p>\n \n \n<\/p>\n
