\nAccording to a survey by AAA Auto Club South the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is not having a great impact on travel plans.\n<\/p>\n

\nOf the people planning to visit Florida’s Gulf Coast 87 percent said they had no intentions of changing their plans for any reason. Of that 87 percent, 58 percent said they were unlikely to change them due to the spill.\n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\nThirteen percent did change their plans but a majority noted it was because of financial or other reasons and had nothing to do with the spill.\n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\nOf travelers who have plans to visit Florida’s Gulf Coast in the future, 43 percent said the spill will have little to notable weight on their future travel plans to the Gulf Coast of Florida.\n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\n“While we are encouraged that only a small percentage of travelers are canceling their current plans, we are concerned that a much larger percentage says news about the oil spill will have a greater influence on their future plans,” senior VP of AAA, Kevin Bakewell said.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe survey was taken last week in east Mississippi and consisted of 1,400 individuals.\n<\/p>\n
