AA was up 10.81 billion revenue passenger miles from May 2009&#39;s 10.38 billion revenue passenger miles. A revenue passenger mile equates to one passenger flown one mile.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWhile total May capacity slipped 0.4 percent to 13.06 billion available seat miles from just one year prior, the airline&#39;s load factor increased to 82.8 percent from 79.1 last year.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAmerican&rsquo;s sister plane American Eagle<span class=\"story_clink\"><\/span><br \/>\nalso saw May traffic jump by 5.8 percent, with the airline flying 728<br \/>\nmillion passengers miles, up from 688 million one year ago.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nLoad factor for American Eagle was up a bit to 74 percent for the month of May and 1.6 million passengers flew with AE.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAverage occupancy on planes rose 3.6 points, to 82.8 percent.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p><em>Source: <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/dallas.bizjournals.com\/dallas\/stories\/2010\/05\/31\/daily37.html\" target=\"_blank\"> Dallas Business Journal <\/a><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>American Airlines announced Thursday that their traffic jumped 4.1 percent for the month of May.
