\nWork on the London 2012 Olympics is moving along smoothly, with the latest from the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) stating that over 10,000 people are currently employed and working hard on the Olympic Park and Athletes' Village as the 'big build' nears its peak. \n<\/p>\n

\nODA chairman John Armitt commented on the great progress London is making, “The Olympic Park and Village big build
\nare on track thanks to the hard work of everyone on the site." \n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\nHe added, “In a tough time for the construction industry we are providing jobs for
\nmore than 10,000 workers and meeting our commitments to safety,
\ntraining and employing local people and apprentices.”\n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\nODA released figures on who exactly is working on the construction sites for the 2012 games as well. Of the roughly 6,200 plus Olympic Park workers, a little over one in five are residents of the five host borough and more than half live in London. Of the roughly 4,000 plus working on the Athletes' Village, one in four are from the five hos boroughs, with six out of the ten currently living in London. \n<\/p>\n
