Ranked 24th by traffic among international airlines as recently as 2000,<br \/>\nthe airline was put on par with Sabena SA, the Belgian carrier that<br \/>\nfolded a year later.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nEmirates has increased traffic six-fold since then,<br \/>\novertaking Cologne, Germany-based Deutsche Lufthansa AG&rsquo;s main brand<br \/>\nlast year.
