The store came to fruition at the urging of US Senator Bernard Sanders, an Independent from Vermont.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nDuring a visit to the museum around Christmas time, he was disturbed to find that almost none of the merchandise sold in the museum&rsquo;s other gift shop was made in the USA.
