Since their grand return to the silver screen on Thanksgiving, the furry friends have raked in more than $70 million at the American box office.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now word has broken that <strong>New York City<\/strong>\u2019s Museum of the Moving Image is extending its \u201cJim Henson\u2019s Fantastic World\u201d exhibition due to popular demand. Originally scheduled to end in January, the retrospective has been extended through March 4.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Museum officials expect nearly 100,000 visitors to pass through by the end of its run, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com\/2011\/12\/19\/muppet-show-continues-museum-of-moving-image-extends-jim-henson-exhibition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit showcases a variety of Henson work from his historic career, including artwork and props from The Muppets and Sesame Street.
