In Iceland, it\u2019s the mustard. In <strong>New York City<\/strong> (at Crif Dogs), it\u2019s the extent of the menu.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boston<\/strong>, as well, has several contributions to the hot dog category. Some make the list because of cultural and historical connections, while others just outshine the competition.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Either way, you can bet you\u2019ll have at least one memorable hot dog in Boston, and it won\u2019t be for lack of choices. Let\u2019s take a look at five of the best:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Fenway Park<\/strong>: It\u2019s a \u201cmust,\u201d right? <strong>Fenway Park<\/strong> is legendary, as are its hot dogs. Those soon boarding <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cheapoair.com\/flights\/cheap-flights-to-boston-bos-massachusetts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flights to Boston<\/a><\/strong> need to get some tickets up in the bleachers and do it right. Order a few beers to wash down your Fenway Franks \u2026 you\u2019ll need \u2018em. As far as hot dog quality goes, Fenway\u2019s fare just doesn\u2019t measure up. That\u2019s not why you eat them, though. You eat them to become a part of history.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong><strong> Popo\u2019s<\/strong>: These really are the <strong>best hot dogs in the world<\/strong>. Period. You\u2019ll need to head up to Swampscott, which is a few towns north of Boston, to sink your teeth into these incredible creations. Here\u2019s the good news: it\u2019s winter. Since Popo\u2019s is right on the beach, there isn\u2019t much traffic around it in the colder months. During the summer, the line can get to be two hours long.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Lawton\u2019s<\/strong>: It\u2019s about half an hour outside Boston, in Lawrence, but Lawton\u2019s is worth the trip (call to make sure they\u2019ve reopened first). Here\u2019s what you need to know: these guys fry their hot dogs, rather than grill or boil them. It\u2019s unique, and it works. I don\u2019t know that I\u2019d go all the way to Lawrence on a vacation in Boston just to hit Lawton\u2019s but if you\u2019re up in that area, Lawton\u2019s is definitely worth a stop.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Minibar<\/strong>: Located in the Back Bay\u2019s Copley Square Hotel, minibar isn\u2019t exactly like the other hot dog joints on this list. It\u2019s a bit more upscale, as is the dog itself \u2013 made from Kobe beef. This dog is big on flavor and will take your taste buds by force. You\u2019ll pay a bit more for the experience, but I assure you, it\u2019s worth it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. The Sausage Guy<\/strong>: If you need an alternative to a Fenway Frank, in that neighborhood, check out The Sausage Guy, over on Lansdowne Street. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yelp.com\/biz\/the-sausage-guy-boston#hrid:DbmdCSljrPdVMItFZ9C5mw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">reviews of these hot dogs<\/a> and sausages are solid, and the best part is that The Sausage Guy is also a stand-up guy: when other vendors around Fenway were jacking up prices in 2004 (when the Sox finally broke the curse),\u00a0 he didn\u2019t change a thing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; It&#8217;s a guy eat hot dog world out there &nbsp; You can get hot dogs anywhere, but every major city has a unique twist on this standard snack.
