Flickr: mhowry\" width=\"450\" height=\"340\" align=\"middle\" \/><\/div>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGold, Gold, Gold, Gold!\u201d was the headline of a Seattle newspaper in 1897.\u00a0 Unfortunately, for the majority of Stampeders heading through <strong>Seattle<\/strong> in search of riches, few found gold in the Yukon Territory.\u00a0 Despite their frustrations, the 70,000 folks that purchased a year\u2019s worth of supplies from Seattle businesses helped to make Seattle the large and prosperous city that it is today.\u00a0 In fact, Seattle&#8217;s population went from just 40,000 in 1890 to 240,000 by 1910.
