In NYC, major airlines are preparing for this week\u2019s Nor\u2019easter Athena in the aftermath of superstorm Sandy. This storm is not predicted to be as damaging as Sandy was, but with defenses down, especially the on the coast, the storm may take its toll with high winds, a mix of rain and snow and potential for more flooding.<\/p>\n

With over 20,000 flights<\/a><\/strong> canceled due to the previous storm, several airlines have suspended operations and others are encouraging passengers to reschedule \u2013 without a fee.<\/p>\n

Airline confirmed cancelations are as following:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 United is suspending service in New York starting at noon Wednesday till noon Thursday.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 American Airlines is shutting down in New York at 3 p.m. and from Philadelphia at noon.<\/p>\n
