Considering the horrors that struck Boston less than one month ago, Boston<\/a><\/strong> could use a sports related morale boost. If you find yourself heading to the Boston area, the Bruins made a place for themselves in the playoffs of the NHL respectively. Catch a playoff game at TD Garden in support of Boston. TD Garden, one of the top arenas in the country, opened in 1995 and has already hosted more than 30 million visitors. In addition to hosting world class sporting, concert, and other events, TD Gardens is also the home of The Sports Museum, located on the 5th and 6th level.<\/p>\n

The museum houses a large collection of sports memorabilia including:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Actual wood seats, glass walls, and the penalty box from the original Boston Garden. (You can watch highlights of old-games in the seats!)
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lockers & uniforms from famous Boston Sports Legends including Larry Bird.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 Adam Vinatieri’s winning shoes that kicked the 48-yard field goal to give the Patriots an overtime victory in Super Bowl XXXVI.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Evolution of Women’s Basketball exhibit.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Summer of ’41 exhibit featuring greats like Ted Williams and Joe Dimaggio.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 History and artifacts on the Boston Redskins.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The “Beanpot” Cup and history on this yearly cross-town rival hockey event.

If you are looking for archives, search the Sports Museum Library featuring over a thousand hours of sports film and footage and over two-thousand photos.<\/p>\n

Although there is no museum store, the Boston Bruins Pro Shop is directly adjacent to the Museum.<\/p>\n

Admission to the museum is $10 adults and $5 children over 10. Kids under 10 are free.<\/p>\n

Convenient parking is located at the TD Garden; you can prepay in advance online. The Sports Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. excluding a few events and holidays.<\/p>\n

Consider donating to The One Fund<\/a>, instituted by Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino to help victims of the Boston Marathon.<\/p>\n
